I'm Winston Yearwood-Stevens, known to many as “Winnie”, and music has been my lifelong companion, guiding me through the highs and lows with its soul-stirring resonance.
From the tender age of youth, I found solace and inspiration in the timeless sounds of musical legends such as Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Carole King and Stevie Wonder. Their voices spoke to me on a deeper level, igniting a fire within that would fuel my creative spirit for years to come.
As I journeyed deeper into the vast expanse of musical genres, I discovered a profound love for R&B, jazz, ballads, rock, contemporary pop, and the timeless allure of Motown classics. Artists like Bill Withers, Free, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Adele, John Baptiste and Bad Company became my guiding lights, influencing my sound and shaping my artistic identity.
But it wasn't just about listening to music for me; it was about channeling my innermost thoughts and emotions into lyrical poetry. Every day, I pick up a pen and let the melodies flow, crafting songs that speak to the depths of the human experience.
Whether fronting a band with my vocals or performing in front of audiences as a solo singer, I found my true calling on the stage. Each performance was an opportunity to share a piece of my soul with the world, to connect with others through the universal language of music.
But perhaps my greatest joy came from the act of creation itself. There's something magical about the process of song writing, watching as words and melodies intertwine to form something greater than the sum of its parts. My songs became my voice, my truth, my legacy.
In a world that's constantly changing, music has remained my constant companion, guiding me through life's twists and turns with its timeless melodies and heartfelt lyrics. And as I continue to journey through the ever-evolving landscape of music, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my passion and my art with all who are willing to listen.
Let me now introduce you to my new musical project “Crimson Echoes”, which will be a mixture of new songs and those I have written over the years.
This is my musical memoir; a testament to the power of music to inspire, to heal, and to unite us all.
